Easter Sunday and it’s Sprintcarmania Day 2 featuring Cromwell speedway's season finale, the 2016-17 South Island Sprintcar Championship. With the 2016-17 Hydraulink War of the Wings done and dusted, the South’s best of the best gladiators once more wheel out their 800 – 900 horsepower ‘winged chariots’ for adrenalin-pumping, wing-to-wing racing that’s Bigger than Ben-Hur. Will this be the day when the current Sprintcar King of Cromwell Jason Scott adds a sixth South Island Sprintcar Championship to his racing resume.
As if Sprintcar racing isn’t putting your heart under enough strain, Easter Sunday is Day 2 to decide the 2016-17 season winner of Cromwell’s annual South Island Super Saloons Stampede. With around 800 horsepower under their bonnets and on average 2 metres wide and 5 metres long, these fire spitting, methanol gulping ‘Beasts of Speedway’ are a spectacle not to be missed.
For Six-Shooters, Saloons, Productions and Youth Ministocks, Easter Sunday for most is the 2017 Easter Champs. Believe us, these champs are fiercely fought which means full on, hard charging racing. Six Shooters will also be racing their 2017 GP.
