SEPTEMBER 24, 2022.
3 rounds, 2 minutes, 1 winner: it’s going to be an exciting night of smoke, burning rubber and racing to herald the start of a new season.
Foot hard on the brake pedal, select the lowest gear, plant that accelerator and gently release the brakes. Each driver gets three chances to show us what they’ve got, and scoring is set in two categories – smoke scores and driving scores. Drivers get points for instant smoke, constant smoke and their driving skills. Driving skills should not be confused with driving control – it’s the skills everyone wants to see. Drivers get penalties for tyres that don’t pop, hitting the wall, reversing, stalling, or creating large fires!
There’s an exciting line-up of cars this season, ready to spin their wheels in the huge crowd-pleaser that is the Central Motor Speedway annual Burnout Competition. This annual crowd-pleaser is kindly sponsored by Shane Mitchell Contracting - digger and earth-moving excavation experts; and by Central Mini Dig - local excavation services.
There’s also the fiercely competitive Ladies’ Production Race, where women can get their first taste of racing adrenaline. These ladies have certainly got something to prove as they tear up the track – they’re set to show the men just how it’s done!
